Glaid (henceforth referred to as "Glaid," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our") operates a financial services ecosystem that empowers users to execute asset transfers, manage multi-currency digital wallet balances, and engage in secure, escrow-backed trading across more than 40 international jurisdictions.
By accessing the Glaid website, utilizing our mobile software, or engaging with our related financial features (collectively, the "Services"), you acknowledge your agreement to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions. This agreement incorporates our Privacy Policy and any other referenced guidelines. If you do not consent to these provisions, you must immediately cease all use of our Services.
Glaid’s suite of Services is provided by Glaid Technologies Limited and its globally distributed affiliates. Our ecosystem is tailored for both private individual consumers and corporate business entities, provided they satisfy the eligibility and jurisdictional requirements established in this document.
The following definitions are used throughout these Terms and Conditions to provide clarity:
"Glaid," "the Company," "we," "us," or "our": Refers to Glaid Technologies Limited, including its corporate successors, registered affiliates, and any authorized third-party partners that facilitate Glaid’s operational presence in your specific region.
"You" or "User": Any private individual or corporate entity that accesses the Glaid platform or utilizes our Services, including any person legally authorized to represent a business client.
"Services": The entire range of products and functionalities provided by Glaid, including the web and mobile applications, international remittance tools, multi-currency wallet management, trade-protection escrow services, and any auxiliary features we may introduce.
"Glaid Wallet" or "Wallet": A specialized, non-interest-bearing digital money account provided by Glaid. This account allows you to maintain balances in one or several currencies for the purpose of sending remittances, executing payments, or participating in secure trades. This is NOT a traditional bank deposit; it does not accrue interest and is not covered by government deposit insurance schemes.
"Remittance" or "Money Transfer": An instruction provided by you to Glaid to deliver specific funds to a target recipient (the "Recipient") through our platform. This process may include converting currency from your Wallet balance for payout in a foreign jurisdiction.
"Trade" or "Escrow Transaction": A secure financial exchange facilitated by Glaid where assets are held in a protected escrow state until the contractual conditions established between a Buyer and a Seller are fully satisfied.
"Recipient": The specific person or corporate entity you designate to receive funds via our Services (e.g., family, friends, or business suppliers).
"Payment Account": An external financial source linked to your Glaid Wallet, such as a personal bank account or debit card, held in your name and utilized to capitalize your Wallet balance.
You must be at least 18 years of age (or have reached the age of majority in your specific jurisdiction) to open a Glaid account. By initiating registration, you warrant that you possess the legal capacity to enter into this binding contract.
You must reside in and access our Services from a supported region. Glaid currently serves clients in Canada, the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and other designated markets. Remittances must originate from approved countries and be sent to Recipients in supported regions. Our list of authorized jurisdictions is subject to periodic updates.
We offer Services for both personal (family/household) use and legitimate corporate/business operations. If registering for an organization, you represent that you have the legal authority to bind that entity to these Terms. Business clients may be asked for additional documentation, such as proof of ownership, business licenses, and official authorizations.
You are required to provide comprehensive, truthful, and precise data during registration. This includes your legal name (or entity name), residential or business address, electronic mail, mobile contact info, and date of birth or incorporation. You must update these details immediately if they change. Generally, each user is restricted to one Glaid account unless we provide written authorization for multiples.
As a regulated financial services provider, Glaid must verify your identity to enable certain transaction types. You must complete our 'Know-Your-Customer' (KYC) and due diligence protocols. This may involve email/phone verification, submitting government-issued identification (e.g., driver’s license or passport), and providing a biometric 'selfie' for identity confirmation. We may request extra data for high-volume transactions or business accounts. Until verification is finalized, features such as fund withdrawals or high-value transfers may be restricted.
During signup, you will establish secure login data, including a username and password. You are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of these credentials and for the overall security of your account. Do not disclose your PIN or password to third parties. Glaid will never ask for your password. You must notify us immediately if you suspect your account has been compromised. You are liable for all account activity unless it results directly from our negligence.
Glaid will review your submitted data and verification results. We reserve the right to accept or deny any registration at our sole discretion. Approval grants you access to the Services as outlined in these Terms. Providing fraudulent or incomplete information is grounds for immediate account suspension or termination.
Glaid provides a sophisticated digital Wallet that enables the management of funds across various currencies (such as NGN, CAD, USD, GBP, EUR, AED, etc.) within a unified interface.
Electronic Money Status: Your Wallet stores digital representations of value (e-money) equivalent to your loaded funds. It is NOT a bank account. Glaid is not a bank; we safeguard your funds by holding them in segregated accounts with Tier-1 financial institutions according to local regulations. Your balance does not earn interest and is not covered by government deposit insurance.
Capitalizing Your Balance: You can load funds via linked Payment Accounts or other supported methods (e.g., bank transfers, wire transfers, Interac e-Transfer, or debit cards, depending on your region). Funds will be credited after necessary security reviews. All capitalization must originate from accounts or cards held in your own name.
Currency Conversion: You may exchange balances between different currencies within the Wallet at the exchange rates offered by Glaid. Applicable rates and fees are shown upfront before you confirm an exchange. Once confirmed, these transactions are final. While we aim for competitive pricing, rates are subject to global market volatility.
Usage Policies: Your Wallet may be used to execute international remittances, send/receive funds to other Glaid users, participate in secure Trades via our Escrow Transaction feature, or withdraw assets to your linked bank account. You may not use the Wallet for illegal acts, arbitrage, unauthorized gambling, or any activity that violates these Terms.
To initiate a transfer, you must have sufficient Wallet funds or an authorized funding source. You are responsible for the accuracy of Recipient data. Glaid is not liable for losses if funds are sent to the wrong person due to errors in your instructions.
Submitting a transfer authorizes Glaid to debit your balance for the principal and fees, and to remit funds to your Recipient. We aim for prompt delivery, but actual timeframes depend on banking cycles and compliance reviews.
While we aim for 24/7 availability, service may be paused for maintenance or due to force majeure events beyond our control. Glaid is not liable for delays during such periods.
For security and compliance, we may cap the amount you can send per day or per rolling period. Current limits are displayed in the app and are subject to change based on risk assessments.
Transparent Fees: Glaid utilizes a transparent pricing structure. All fees are shown before you confirm a transfer. Our revenue may include a margin on exchange rates. Rates are locked at the moment of your confirmation.
Cancellations and Refunds: Due to the speed of our service, cancellation is usually impossible once processing begins. Failed transfers (e.g., due to incorrect data) will be credited back to your Wallet.
